Gordon Alexander WILKINSON
1917 – 1995
Gordon A. WILKINSON passed away at hospital in Worthing, West Sussex, England on Tuesday, March 7, 1995 in his 79th year.
He was son of the late Mary and Charles WILKINSON, born in Bentinck Township. He was employed on farms in the Hanover-Elmwood area until joining the Army in 1940. He served in the First Division and 1st Field Regiment RCHA, serving in England, Sicily, Italy, Holland and Germany.
Mr WILKINSON was predeceased by his first wife Doris MALTHOUSE, whom he married in 1945 in England.
Returning to the Teeswater district in 1946, he was employed at the Wingham Foundry and later farmed for several years in the Brussels area before returning to England, where he has lived until his death.
Mr WILKINSON and his wife Ida had visited family and friends only last October.
He is survived by his wife Ida, one sister Ada, Mrs Russ BELL of Greenock, and two brothers, Arthur and William, both of Hanover.
He was predeceased by his parents and three brothers, Kenneth, John and Bertram.
Funeral service was held Friday, March 10, 1995, with burial in Sunset Gardens in Worthing, England.
