OBITUARY
July 1932
Sarah Muriel DICKSON (BLACK)
1886 - 1932
A very sudden death took place on Friday, July 22, when Mrs. Samuel DICKSON of Tregarva, Sask, passed away while she and her husband and family were motoring to the lake. The deceased took a sudden heart attack and passed away before medical aid could be secured. She had not been in the best of health in some time.
The deceased whose maiden name was Muriel BLACK was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John BLACK of Elmwood. She was born in the township of Bentinck on the BLACK homestead and was in her 46th year. About 27 years ago she was married to Mr. Samuel A. DICKSON and for a number of years they resided on a farm east of Elmwood and later they went to Western Canada.
Deceased had a loving, quiet disposition, and was much loved by those who knew her. She was a kind, devoted wife and mother, and she will be greatly missed by her sorrowing husband and four children, Eva, Wallace, Helen and Hazel, the latter being six years of age. She also leaves to mourn her passing, three brothers and five sisters, namely, William E. of Fargo, ND; Margaret (Mrs. T.H. LATIMER) of Montreal; Robert of Berthold, ND; John C. of Plaza, ND; Bertha (Mrs. W.W. LATIMER) of Walkerton; Mary (Mrs. C.J. WILKINSON) of Elmwood; Eva (Mrs. J. MCCONKEY) of Greenock and Gertie (Mrs. C.E. NOBLE) of Paisley. Three brothers and two sisters are predeceased, namely; Annie (Mrs. Hugh WILLIAMS); Andrew who died in the Great War; Alexander who died so suddenly last October, and Robert and Helen in infancy. Miss Mary BLACK of Hanover is a niece of the deceased.
The funeral was held the following Monday and was largely attended, showing the high esteem in which the late Mrs. DICKSON was held in the community in which she lived.
