Testament
of
Archd. Black

In the name of God Amen.  I Archibald Black of the County of
   Cumberland and State of North Carolina being very sick and 
   weak of Body but perfect mind and memory, Thanks be
   given unto God; calling into mind The mortabity of any Body, and
   knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make &
   ordain this my last Will and Restament; That is to say princi-  
   pally and first of all, I give and recommend my Soul into
   the hand of Almighty God who gave it, and my Body I
   recommend to the Earth to be buried in decent Christian
   Burial at the discretion of my Executors: Nothing doubling
   but at the general Resurrection I shall receive the same again
   by the might power of God.  And as touching such wordly 
   Estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this Life
   I give, demise, and dispose of the same in the following manner
   and form:               First, I give and bequeath to Christian
   my beloved Wife a third part of th Cattle, the Sheep, and the 
   Hogs,  likewise possesion of the Field and Buildings for Life
   Secondly         I bequeath to my Son Malcom  a Bond of Sixty
   Pounds signed by Niell McCrannie.         Thirdly, I bequeath 
   to my Son Donald a Fifty Acres of Land joining the planta-
   tion on the North side.        Fourthly, I bequeath to my Son 
   Angus Fifty Acres of Land joining the plantation on the East
   side with the buildings thereof.  Fifthly, I bequeath to my
   Son John the plantation with the utensils  thereunto belonging
       The remaining part of the Cattle, one Mare, and one year
   old to be equally divided among my Childern.  Likewise the
   the Negroe Fellow after my Wife's Decease to be sold, and the
   value of him to be equally didvided among my Childern
       And I hereby constitute and appoint my loving brother
   Hugh Black, and my trusty friend Angus McNicol the sole
   and whole Executors of this my last Will and Testament; In
   witness whereof I have heresent set my hand and Seal the 8th day
   of February 1792.
