6. Anderson Line
1. Robert Gilmore Anderson, Sr, born
April 15, 1782, in Kentucky(?), died May 21, 1841, in Nacodoches
County, Texas. He married October 28, 1802, Rebecca Fry, born June 6, 1784, died October
3, 1819. He was one of the early pioneers to settle in Section
17, St. Jacob Township, Madison County, Illinois, in 1816. This
early settlement was made along the timber's edge, on the east
side of Silver Creek, by hardy pioneers from Kentucky and Tennessee,
in 1810. In 1812 it was necessary, because of hostility from
the Indians, to built a fort or stockade, but it was never attacked.
They had the following children:
1. James Gilmore Anderson, born August 15,
1803, died in September, 1847, in St. Jacob Township, Madison
County, Illinois married September 15, 1823, Hannah McAdams.
He was the first blacksmith of St. Jacob Township, Madison County,
Illinois. He, with a William Faires, a woodworker, made wagons
and the wooden mould-board plow for the early settlers. (Ref:
"Centennial History of Madison County, Illinois and Its People,
From 1812 to 1912," compiled by W. T. Norton, Alton, IL.,
dated 1912, Chapter LXXIII., pp. 587-588.) He served as Major
of the regiment in the Black Hawk War, and was a respected citizen
and a member of the County Commissioners Board at the time of
his death in September, 1847.
4. Robert Gilmore Anderson, Jr., born July
27, 1810, died December 21, 1956. married June 20, 1833, Judith
Ann Ligon, born February 3, 1815, in Tennessee or Virginia (?),
died November 29, 1896, in Tehuacana, Limestone County, Texas.

1834, died January 3, 1917, in Burnett, Burnett County, Texas,
married Emily Muckleroy.
2. Emily Ligon Anderson, born May 21, 1836.

1838, died February 1, 1891, married on December 20, 1856, Hayden

8, 1843, died December 1, 1846.

2. Nancy Anderson, born November 8,
1805, in Bourbon County, Kentucky, died December 11, 1887, in
Dallas County, Texas, buried in Wheatland Cemetery, Dallas County,
married on June 8, 1825, John Penn,
born March 16, 1804, in what is now Murray, Georgia. He died
December 1, 1871, in Pana, Christian County, Illinois, and is
buried at Linwood Cemetery, near Pana, Illinois. John Penn divorced
Nancy Anderson and married on April 19, 1867, (2) Sarah E. Crow.

1. Thomas Pettus, born 1475, in Norwich,
co. Norfolk, England, married in 1495, in Norwich, ____________,
born in 1479, in Norwich. They had a son, John.
2. John Pettus, born in 1496, in Norwich,
co. Norfolk, died August 28, 1558, in Norwich, buried in St. Simon's
and St. Jude's Church, Norwich. He married in 1522, in co. Norfolk,
(1) Joan __________,
born in 1500. John is reported in "Virginia Families"
as "an opulent citizen of Norwich, who was buried in St.
Edmund's, Lombard Street, London. They had six children as follows:
