6. Jesse Pridgen was born about 1744 in Edgecombe Co., NC.² He signed a will on 1 Feb 1816. He died in 1816.

Jesse Pridgen and Mary Batchelor were married between 1766 and 1769.^9,10,11 Mary Batchelor (daughter of Stephen Batchelor and Mary Manning) was born about 1754/55 in Norfolk Co., VA. She died about 1824 in Nash Co., NC. Jesse Pridgen and Mary Batchelor had the following children:
