Services Monday for Nannie Bond
Mrs. Nannie M. Bond was laid to rest in Valley View cemetery following funeral services at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Crowley Baptist church.
Mrs. Bond, who was 83, passed away New Year's day as result of a stroke suffered two days earlier.
Nannie Neal was born in Blend, Va., May 5, 1871. She died in the Mennonite hospital in La Junta, Colo., January 1, 1955, age 83 years, 7 months and 26 days.
In 1884 her family moved from Virginia to Council Grove, Kan., where she lived for several years.
January 20, 1897 she was united in marriage to the late Albert Bond. To this union were born three children, Mrs. Violet Mann & Orville Bond of Crowley, Colo., and Marvin Bond of Pendleton, Oregon.
Mr. and Mrs. Bond were pioneers of Okla., moving there in 1908, continuing to live there until 1923 when they moved to Crowley, Colo.
Mrs. Bond was a member of the Christian church, having united with it in August, 1918.
She was a charter member of the Tri-C Federated Club of Crowley and the Crowley Baptist Circle.
Mrs. Bond was preceded in death by her husband, her father, mother, four brothers, one sister and one grandson.
Besides the daughter and two sons she leaves to mourn her going away one sister, Mrs. Maggie Edens of Council Grove, Kan., eight grand children, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Mrs. Bond will be remembered as a loving mother, friend and neighbor. She will be missed so much in the home and by the many who knew her.
