Mrs. Herbert Waxham Dies After Stroke
Wife of Pioneer Succumbed Today

She Attended Meeting Yesterday and Suffered Stroke On Return Home - Was Unconscious Until End Came Early Today - Family at Bedside.

   A stroke of apoplexy suffered late yesterday afternoon proved fatal early today to Mrs. Herbert Waxham, 1737 Spruce street, old-time resident and widely-known here. She was 72 years old.
   Mrs. Waxham had been in excellent health and attended a meeting of the Women's Relief Corps yesterday afternoon, returning to her home from the meeting in apparent excellent health.
   About 5 o'clock she suffered the stroke and was unconscious from that time until about 5 o'clock this morning when she succumbed.
   Her husband, Civil War veteran and pioneer resident; her son, H.O. Waxham, special county officer; another son were at her bedside when she passed away.
   Mrs. Waxham was active in Methodist Church society work, having been a member of the church many years, and in Woman's Relief Corps work and in the W.C.T.U.
   She and Mr. Waxham, who is 86 years old, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary this fall, at which time their children were with them.
   The body is at the How mortuary. The funeral plans have been held up, pending word from Herbert Waxham, in California.
