*He may have been of age when his parents died in 1846, I see no guardianship
records for him although they are complete for the other children.
The 1860 census of Vermilion County shows a John Jackson living next to John
Ross and wife, Susan. John Jackson is age 34, a farmer, born in Ohio and has
a wife, Ellen, age 31, born in Virginia. Two Daughters, S.F. age 8 and L.E.,
age 6.
There is a John Jackson, born in Ohio, living in Sidell Township, Vermilion
County, Illinois on the the 1870 census: age 43 with daughters Susan, 18 and
Laura, 16, but no wife. Frank Green, the son of Elizabeth Ross and Francis P.
Green, was living with them.
The 1880 census of Sidell Township, Vermilion County shows a Richard Keyes,
age 3o, born in Pennsylvania as were both of his parents. Richard's wife is
Laura, age 27, born in Indiana and both parents born there also. Son, John J.
Keyes, age 3, daughter Gracie, age 1. In the household is father-in-law, John
Jackson, age 53, widowed, a farmer; born in Indiana, both parents born in
Virginia----the birth place of his mother was actually Ohio.
