Dates from Nelly Huffman Henry Christena's married name listed as Reed. Her
father's obituary states her name was Mrs. Channy Reed, a widow with whom
John had lived the prior 15 years.
The 1900 soundeslists Channie Reed as living in Jefferson County, Mount
Vernon Township, Illinois wihJohn L. Ross, father, born October 182, age 78,
born in PA.
I have not yet found the definite connection of Nelly Huffman Henry to the
Ross family. She did a great deal of research on the family. I have been
unable to determine what happened to her records when she died. Her widower,
Gail Henry, told my by telephone and also upon a personal visit to his home
in 1995 that her records were picked up by "some man from Danville", he
didn't know his name or where the records might be. He also stated that he
thought Nelly's mother or grandmother's name was Channie.
