Notes for Elizabeth ROSS

Harold Leckey in his work on the Tenmile Country states that Elizabeth
married James Haines and went to Butler County, Ohio. I find them there in
the Butler County Census of males over the age of 21 dated 1807. In this
list his name is spelled Hindes. However in one deed I found it is spelled
three different ways in the one document, Hinds, Hindes and Haines. His
signature is on the deed of sale, however, and he signed it as Haines.
I have not been able to locate were James and Elizabeth went when they left
butler county about 1819 at the same time that the Isaac Parkers left also.
They were involved in the settlement of Elizabeth's father's estate in Greene
County in 1815-1820 according to deeds and some quite claims but were
represented by Henry Green under power of attorney and the filmed estate
records of John Ross do not inticated the place of their residence.
