Age 34 in the 1850 census of Clinton County. A Samuel McNutt purchased a
spade from the estate sale of John Ross on October 12, 1849. The History of
Edgar County, Illinois states a William McNutt came there in 1854. He is not
in the 1860 census of Edgar or Vermilion Counties.
