Dates from Pearl Ross's records. The "History of Knox County, 1881, by Hill:
"William Ross was born in Greene County, PA but with the family moved to Clay
Township, Knox County, Ohio in 1823. The Family moved several times. William,
Jr. in 1841 left home to learn the stone mason trade to which he served an
apprenticeship of three years. He also attended school during this time and
during the Winter of1843 taught school. He continued at his trade. In 1844
he married Elizabeth Eley and five children were born to them. The Rosses
were members of the Disciple Church, William, Jr. served as an elder for over
thirty years."
