From the data of Pearl Ross: The two oldest sons, Lemuel and James enlisted
during the civil war, they both contracted measles and died within two days of
each other. Their bodies were brought home and burried in the Dennis Cemetery.
Name listed as Samuel in the 1860 census but as Lemuel in the Knox County
Cemetery records. Died in Camp, near Rossville, Georga. Wasin Co G., 121 Reg
