John B Womack left a will in Charleston Dist, SC, Vol 49 (1856-62), p.862. I have not seen the will yet. In 1860, John B Womack was enumerated twice, once in New Orleans, and once in Charleston, SC. He was a wealthy slave trader. See SC Supreme Court Case - Joel M Womack vs Robert Austin, where John B's son, Joel M, sued the executor of his father's will. Joel M Womack attended the Citadel, and fought in the Civil War. He is noted as being one of the few people to escape from the Union prison camp at Elmira, NY.
