Starting in 1836, the county was divided into districts. I tried to find all Womacks in every year in the entire couty. For the Rogers surname, I tried to get them all until 1836, then I just got the ones in the districts (14 and 16) where my Rogers family was. Tax amounts were often had half and quarter pennies, which is why you see $.4375 (forty-three and three quarters cents). There were also Caseys in the same district, and the Casey name is hard to tell from Cosby in some of the old handwriting.

Unfortunately, what is on microfilm is a typed-out version that looks
like it is from the WPA era. The original marriage records can probably
be found in Bolivar, TN (the county seat of Hardeman). By the way, the
man for whom the county was named, Thomas J. Hardeman, was also one
of the first county clerks.
