Stephen N. Richards moved his family from Upton to Andover, Maine in 1872.
He bought a farm from Asa A. West just west of the village, where he and
his descendants raised potatoes and cattle. The farm was owned by Stephen's
descendants until 1998. Transcribed on these pages are diaries, letters,
deeds and other documents that were found in the home at the time of its
sale. Five generations lived in the home. These pages represent the first
three.
