"Phil is a deliberate, easy-going mortal, whose chief weakness is reading
the comic section of 'The Boston American.' Occasionally he does break away
from his recital of jokes long enough to write a would-be humorous tale for
'The Arcturus.' For all his faults he might have become a man, but he has recently
fallen before the charms of the fair sex, not one, but all; not a particular
star, but any that will shine on him. This is so foreign to P. Roach's make-up
that it must seem like a nightmare. We trust he will awake before it is too
late."
Letter dated Feb 27, 1920 from A. W. Boston, Pricipal of Caribou H. S., attests
to his graduation with an average that was "a very fair one." He
