3 CONC article notes the fish hatchery was begun in 1892 by the Caribou Fish
3 CONC & Game Association "over B. L. Brigg's woodshed on North Main St."  In
3 CONC Oct. 1892, it was moved "down under S. L. White's drug store."  In
3 CONC 1895, "the grounds in Caribou were first started on Sweden St..." and
3 CONC operation was taken over by the (state) Commissioners of Fish and
3 CONC Game.

3 CONT It is probable that William A. Roach began work at the fish hatchery
3 CONC in 1892 and continued until some point when he went to work for the
3 CONC railroad. By 1900, the Aroostook Republican reported that "constant
3 CONC employment has been given to five men." By 1896, the hatchery had
3 CONC seven men working under David E. Johnson as Superintendent of the
3 CONC Hatchery, and had expanded to 26 ponds. .

1 NOTE A clipping from an AP Wire Service report, datelined  Wexford,
2 CONC Ireland, reported that the (Findlen) family homestead (a "thatched
2 CONC cottage") was to be razed.  It said it was the home where Michael
2 CONC Fenelon fathered his 65 children.  Michael was born in 1801, died age
2 CONC 99 in 1900.  He married at 17; had 25 children by his first wife, 18
2 CONC by his second and 20 by the third. The cottage was in Wexford's Black
2 CONC Cow Lane.  It is not clear what the relationship of Michael was to
2 CONC Patrick, possibly a brother (Michael was born in 1801, Patrick in
2 CONC 1812).
