Wagner) had lost his Port Chester pharmacy by 1920. 3 CONC He was reportedly too easy with his customers and credit and when a 3 CONC chain drugstore moved across the corner from his pharmacy -- offering 3 CONC cutrate prices -- it wasn't long before he had to give up the 3 CONC business. So at some point, after Mom and Dad (Phil and Ada Roach) 3 CONC had moved to Summit NJ, Grandpa and Grandma followed and took up 3 CONC residence at 31 Pearl St., just around the corner from our two-family 3 CONC house at 27 Van Dyke Place. Grandpa took a job as a bookkkeeper for a 3 CONC lumberyard at the end of Van Dyke Place and used to come to the house 3 CONC for lunch at times. I don't believe he kept the job for very long and 3 CONC in a year or two, they moved back to the Bronx. And by 1935, the 3 CONC Roach family moved to White Plains. They lost the two-family house 3 CONC when a family (Levesque, I believe) who had been renting the other 3 CONC half, moved out in the middle of the night owing six months' rent. 3 CONC They had small children and Mom and Dad carried them on the promise 3 CONC that they would pay as soon as the father got another job.
