Harrison Co., Iowa - pub 1990 DAVID PIERCE My great-great-great-grandfather, William Pearce, was from Ross County, Ohio, who moved to Fountain County, Indiana in 1827. He was one of the early settlers of Fountain County. He purchased land in April 3, 1827. William Pearce was appointed as administrator of Thomas Pearce's estate who died September 20, 1828. In the November term, 1837, Elizabeth Pearce, guardian of David and Harriet Pearce, children of Thomas Pearce, deceased, applied to Fountain County Courts to sell land for the support of those two children. The land was not sold as of 1838. Elizabeth Pearce, who had two more children, John and Jonathan Pearce, is the widow of William Pearce. John Pearce was born in Fountain Co., IN., 1834, married Elizabeth and they have two children, Allen and Harrison. Allen H. Pearce was born in 1857 in Fountain Co., Ind. Before he married Rebecca J. Ricketts, he had his last name changed to Pierce in July 26, 1879. They had five children; Edna (Barier) (1879-1949), Maude, John A. (1891-1969), Geroge, Harvey C. (1890- 1918). Allen and Rebecca Pierce came to Harrison County in 1890 near Reeders Mills. Allen was 36 years old when he died of typhus malarial fever, Feb 15, 1893, and his wife, Rebecca, died June 10, 1928. George William (Bill) Pierce was born Jan 3, 1885, in Newcastle, Ind., married Myra M. Fox on March 20, 1912, had three children; Geroge Jr., Floyd and Ed McGee. Geroge died Oct 12, 1948, and wife died of influenz Dec 18, 1918, age 20. Floyd L. Pierce, born Sept 11, 1915, Raglan township, Harrison County, married Donna Lou Jens on Aug 11, 1951, and has two children, David and Paul Pierce. David was born march 6, 1956, and Paul ws born Dec. 10, 1951. David graduated from La-Ma in 1975, moved to Denison, Iowa, worked at Bob Mathers 1952. Auto and now is at Dalton Auto for 12 years.
