[R128 in 1st edition, R124 in 2nd ed.]: further details on his descendants:
Children of Jeremiah and Susannah (Bitner) Rockwell [PW 2074–75]:
- Sarah Rockwell, b. Canton, 31 March 1828; married there, 7 June 1850, in her father’s house, John W. Lentz, a miller, from Susquehanna Co., Penn. They lived at Canton, Muncy [Lycoming Co.], Pa., and Dahlonega [Wapello Co.], Iowa. She died at Dahlonega on 10 May 1863, and was buried there. He was living in Missouri, in June of 1876. Five children [PW 2410–12]:
- Marian Malina Lentz, b. ca. 1851 at Canton; married and lived in Illinois in 1876.
- Anna Catharine Lentz, b. 4 June 1853 at Muncy, Pa.; living at Craig, Missouri, in June 1876
- Ella Lentz, b. at Muncy.
- Susan Emily Lentz, b. at Muncy.
- Lovina Lentz, b. at Muncy; died at Dahlonega, Wapello Co., Iowa, 24 April 1863, when about 2 years old.
John W. Lentz is found in the 1870 census at Ottumwa, Wapello Co., Iowa. He was 51, a miller, and a native of Pennsylvania; his second wife was Mary A., 45, b. in Ohio, and daughters Marian, Ella, and Susan were in the household. I didn’t find him in the 1880 census.
- Daniel Rockwell, b. Canton, 12 July 1829; millwright and farmer. He married at Muncy, Pa., 22 June 1856, by Methodist minister Edmund H. Waring, to Jane Lucretia Manley, a physician. She was b. 21 March 1841 at Muncy, daughter of Dr. William and Rhoda (Lambert) Manley. They lived at Cameron, Pa., in June 1876, but the births of their children points to a brief move to Missouri and a temporary settlement at First Fork [Cameron Co.], Pennsylvania. Five children [PW 2411]:
- Susanna Eveline Missouri Rockwell, b. 21 August 1857 in St. Louis, Mo., “at the corner of Seventh and Market Streets.”
- Ida Artemisia Rockwell, b.26 Dec. 1859 at First Fork, Pa.; died there 20 January 1860.

She was b. 24 May 1834 at Liberty, daughter of Jacob and Rosanna (Fry) Schanbacher. They were living at Canton, Pa., in June 1876. Eight children in Whitney [PW 2411–12]; 1 [maybe 2] more in census of 1880:

- Mary Rockwell, b. at Canton, 9 May 1873.
- John Calvin Rockwell, b. at Canton, 5 July 1875.
- Jenny Rockwell.
- Julia Rockwell, perhaps.
The 1880 census at Canton, Pa., shows Norman and family, including an 8-month-old “granddaughter” Julia Rockwell, born in September of the previous year. Problem: All of Norman and Christiana’s children as given in Phoenix and Boughton are listed in the household, the older ones were still single, and only son William was only 13. It would make more sense if this Julia was one more child; so perhaps the census-taker got confused at the last minute?
- Jane Rockwell, b. Canton, 30 Jan. 1832; died there on 4 July 1837.
- John Calvin Rockwell, b. Canton, 22 Sept. 1833; a carpenter. He died unmarried at Canton on 27 Jan. 1868.

- Anna Josephine Rockwell, b. at Canton, 23 July 1873.

- James Rockwell, b. 1879
In the 1880 census, Victor Rockwell’s household in Canton included his nephew “Abraham” [Abram Bitner] Rockwell, 17, son of his late brother Justus; and his mother Susannah, then 73. Besides daughters Anna and Mary, there was a 1-year-old son James.

Children of Adoniram and Hannah (Watkins) Rockwell [PW 2077-78]:
- Hiram Rockwell, who was living at Emporium [Cameron Co.], Pa., in June of 1876. He is probably the Hirem C. Rockwell, 42, living in Emporium at the time of the 1880 census. He was 42, a millwright, and his father was born in Vermont--all of which fits well with Adoniram's record. His mother [presumably Hannah Watkins] was born in New Hampshire. Hiram had a wife Margaret A., 33 in 1880 [occupation: grocer], and a 14-year-old daughter Edith A., who was teaching school. I don't find him in 1870, but in 1860, a 23-year-old millwright named Hiram Rockwell was living with Daniel Rockwell, 31-yr-old millwright of Grove Twp., Clinton Co., Pa. and the latter's family: wife Jane, 21, and daughter Evaline, 3. This family was in Lumber Twp., Cameron Co., Pa., in 1870. This would appear to be the son of Jeremiah and Susannah (Bitner) Rockwell, thus a first cousin to Hiram.
- Morgan Rockwell, who was living at Reynoldsville, Pa., in June of 1876. There is a 37-year-old Morgan Rockwell in the 1880 census at Bordell, McKean Co., Pa., listed as part of the household of James and Ellie Askey. However, his and several other names are crossed out, with no birth and parental birth information given.

H., 6th Regiment of Pennsylania Reserve Volunteer Cavalry, and was discharged 15 June 1864, having taken part in the battles of Drainsville, Second Bull Run, South Mountain, Antietam, Fredericksburgh, Gettysburgh, and The Wilderness. He m. at Whitneyville, Pa., 2 Jan. 1865, by Rev. Charles Weeks [Methodist], Mary Ann Neal. She was b. 15 Nov. 1849 at Charleston, daughter of John and Maria (Shaff) Neal. He was b. 8 Dec. 1840, at Trenton, N.J., son of Martin and Barbara Clemens, who had settled at Charleston. Martin was drafted on 21 Feb. 1865 and assigned to Co. A, 98th Regiment of Pennsylvania Infantry, serving in the Civil War until discharged 29 June 1865. Martin and Mary Ann lived at Charlestown until 1 may 1867; at East Charleston until 1 Nov. 1873; then at Round Top in Charleston, where they were living in July of 1876. Eight children listed in the Whitney genealogy [PW 2417-18] while a ninth appears in the 1880 census:

Note: The 1880 Charleston household also includes Harriet Clark, 65, mother-in-law to Walter Clemens. This would be Mary's mother, Harriet (Rockwell)(Ely) Clark, now widowed a second time.
- Delos Ely, b. at Charleston, Pa., 18 July 1846; a farmer. He married on 13 Aug. 1871 (Baptist minister Frederick Moyer) to Sarah Jane Smith, daughter of Harvey and Eliza (Moyer) Smith, at their home in Brotton Hollow, Town of Delmar, pa. She was born 28 Sept. 1849 at Gaines, Pa. Delos and Sarah settled at Wellsborough, Pa., where they were living in July of 1876. Two children listed in the Whitney genealogy [PW 2418]:
- Thomas Franklin Ely, b. at Charleston, Pa., 18 April 1873.
- Anna Ely, b. at Charleston, Pa., 6 April 1875.
The 1880 household at Charleston shows the same makeup. The parents are called "Delas" and "Jenny."
- Sarah Jane Ely, b. at Charleston, Pa., 26 April 1849; died there 8 May 1850; buried in the Wheeler Cemetery.
