Jonathan's son Silas (by first wife Rebecca) had a son Madison, 6, in the 1850 household, and James M., 16, in 1860. He was probably named James Madison Rockwell, even though he had a younger brother called James Monroe Rockwell (Monroe, 5 in 1860; James M., 15 in 1870).
James Madison Rockwell may have had a son Albert J. Rockwell.
Son Solomon and first wife Cynthia had one child, Ezra, born 28 October 1861. Cynthia may have died from complications of childbirth, for on 23 Nov. 1862 he married, second, Margaret Norris. Solomon Rockwell died on 19 Nov. 1916 and is buried in Limerick Cemetery, Jackson Co., Ohio.
In 1870, Solomon's son Ezra, then 9 years old, was living with his uncle and namesake, Ezra Rockwell of Harrison Township, Scioto County, as I noted in that son of Jonathan's listing. Ezra, son of Solomon, married on 2 December 1886, Susie Gillis. He died at Dayton, Ohio, on 2 November 1938. (This from a descendant of Jonathan, Ellen Rockwell Moore, who has seen the relevant marriage and death records)
Son Ezra, born ca. 1840: Descendant Ellen Rockwell Moore shared with me the following account:
"Ezra was married twice. The first marriage was to Mary E. Coleman. This was a shotgun marriage, and he rode away on his horse immediately after the wedding. He never had anything to do with her after that. She did have a baby boy according to the family; however he died while very young. He then gave Mary's fiance $10.00 so that she could get a divorce, and he assumed that she did. He then married Mary Elizabeth Mc Laughlin 6/25/1870 in Greenup, KY. Their children were: Solomon W. born 6/8/1869; Frank born 1871 and died 1878; Mary E. born 5/13/1873; Jonathan D. born 1/27/1877; and Martha A. born 3/12/1879. Ezra died 10/21/1878. He supposedly had cataahr. He is buried in Limerick Cemetary in Jackson County. He was in the Civil War enlisting in Portsmouth, OH on 8/20/1862."
Ezra's son Jonathan D. Rockwell was born 27 January 1877. He married twice, first, in 1896 in Meigs Co., Ohio, to Sarah Davis, who died 29 Oct. 1929 in Jackson Co., Ohio. He married, second, 23 January 1932, at Sargent, Kentucky, to Amanda E. Hunsacker (b. 7 May 1899 in Wise County, Virginia). Jonathan D. Rockwell died 4/10/1956 in Galipolis, OH. Amanda E. Hunsucker died 7/1/1991 in Ravenna, OH. [from Ellen R. Moore]
