Son David Smith Rockwell's grave is in Westfield Flats Cemetery, Roscoe [Sullivan Co.], New York. [Source: Henry E. Wright's Follett genealogy, reported by John Rockwell of Austin, Minn.]
John Rockwell of Austin, Minn., informs me that son Horace H. Rockwell was born in 1828 at Roxbury, not Jefferson. In 1848, he married Betsy Maria Platt, daughter of Whitlock and Betsy Platt of Stamford, Delaware Co., N.Y. They first lived in Rockland [Sullivan Co.], N.Y., and later moved to Union, where Horace was an agent for the Wells Fargo Express Company. According to Kathryn Frieze, they were the parents of the following children:
- George H. Rockwell, b. 1849
- Roswell Rockwell, b. 1852.
- Lewis Rockwell, b. 1855
- Elizabeth Rockwell, b. 1856.
- Sarah Rockwell, b. 1859.
- Fannie M. Rockwell, b. 1861.
- Anna Marie Rockwell, b. 1869; married James Miller.
Son Isaac R. Rockwell's son Richard (b. 1852) was living in Union, Broome Co., N.Y., at the time of the 1900 census. His wife of 24 years, Emma (then 46, b. June 1853 in New Jersey) had had 2 children, both of whom were still living. One of these was daughter Mary L. Rockwell, then 21 (b. Sept. 1878) and still living at home. The other child was Eva E. Rockwell, age 3 in the 1880 household at Vestal, Broome County. A good candidate to be this daughter in 1900 is Eve E. Clafferty, 23 yrs. old (b. June 1877), wife of Leroy G. Cafferty of Union, Broome County. He was 21, a railroad laborer. They had not had children in 2 years of marriage. In 1910 we find L.G. Cafferty, RR employee, at Binghamton, Union Co., NY, with wife of 2 years, Louise, and a year-old son. This suggests that Eve had died by 1907-08.
