Almon Rockwell (1807-1860) of Butternuts and New York Mills, N.Y. [R286 in 1st edition, R288 in 2nd ed.]: further details on his descendants.

Son Almon Ferdinand Rockwell was a member of the Pennsylvania Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. An online transcript of the Decennial register (1888-1898) for the Pennsylvania SAR shows him listed, with the title, "Lt. Colonel"--apparently the rank to which he attained in the Civil War. His ancestor's record includes not only the verified service in 1775 but also the 3-year-term that actually belongs to a different soldier named Jabez Rockwell. (Thanks to Maureen Moore, descendant of Almon Ferdinand's brother-in-law, George Hunter, for bringing this site to my attention.)
