Born in Tazewell County, Va., she was a daughter of the late John Henry and Minnie Altizer, both Tazewell County natives. She had been a life long resident of the Tazewell County area having made her home with her nephew, A. Y. Waldron of North Tazewell and was a homemaker. She was of the Freewill Baptist Church faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Avery Wingo; three sisters and six brothers.

Survivors: brother, Daniel Altizer of Tazewell; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va., with the Pastors James H. Sargent Jr., and Jess Crouse officiating.

Friends may call from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Tazewell, Va.

Friends and relatives will serve as pallbearers.
