He came to Vancouver in 1888, and after working with various companies, became managing director of Ceperley, Rounsefell & Co.
He was also a director of Vancouver Milling and Grain Co. Ltd., B.C. District Telegraph and Delivery Co., Ltd., and a number of B.C. mining companies.
Mr. Rounsefell was a keen sportsman, with a special interest in football. Several years ago he offered for annual competition the Rounsefell Trophy for the leading English rugby team in a knockout series. He was also president of Point Grey Riding Club, a charter member of Jericho Golf and Country Club, and a member of Vancouver Club.
