          GeneaNet

          GeneaNet is a list of surnames dating before 1900 which connect to addresses where whole works can be accessed. You can register to be notified of new entries. Info can be accessed in English, Spanish, French, German or Dutch. Some sites I tried (particularly in the British links)were "under construction."

          GENDEX -- WWW Genealogical Index

          Gendex indexes hundreds of databases containing data for nearly four million individuals. There is unregistered (free)or registered (pay) access. Data can be subitted; contributorscan be contacted. I tried several surnames here and this site was easiest for me to use. The information (names, dates, & locations) appears on the screen.

          Bureau of Land Management

          Welcome to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Eastern States, General Land Office (GLO) Records Automation web site. This site provides live database and image access to more than two million federal land title records for the Eastern Public Land States, dating back to 1820. You have to sign up to access this database but it is FREE! An excellant genealogical resource.

          inGeneas

          inGeneas has dedicated itself to discovering the best documents available and putting them on the inGeneas website in searchable format. To date, there are more than 48,500 records available on this site for genealogists and family historians seeking their Canadian roots. The inGeneas Passenger List Database currently contains more than 8,300 records transcribed from microfilm copies of the actual manifests of more than 70 different vessels. The inGeneas Immigration Database holds more than 25,600 records transcribed from a variety of immigration documents other than passenger manifests. And best of all this site is FREE! A must see for Canadian researchers.

          Gen Match

          GenMatch is managed by Chris K. Perry and seems to be a site where you can submit HTML files (no GEDCOM files accepted). He will "match" names based on the dates included.

          Here you will find links to Census sites on the web. Transcriptions and Indexes for Federal and State Censuses,Tax Lists, Military Rosters, etc.

          GenServe

          GenServe provides access to its collection of GEDCOM databases after you submit your own GEDCOM file. This site is managed by Cliff Manis.

          Family Tree Maker's Genealogy Site has a searchable index with over 53 million names from census records, marriage records, social security death records, actual family trees, and more. About 20% of people who have ever lived in the US are listed here, so you're bound to make your family tree grow!

          Michigan Death Index

          The Division of Vital Records and Health Statistics has provided Internet access to information from archived death records through the Genealogical Death Indexing System (GENDIS). This system allows the user to search for records using key pieces of information such as the decedent's name, father's last name, and year of death. The data in this system were obtained from microfilmed death ledgers for Michigan, which have been transcribed by genealogists from Michigan's local genealogical societies. Funding for this continuing project is provided by the Abrams Foundation to the Michigan Genealogical Council. The current system contains information on 81,540 Michigan death records from 1867-1874 and a portion of 1875. GENDIS is updated regularly and reflects the most current efforts of the genealogists and data entry staff.

          Kentucky Biographies Project has a search engine with over 7,500 biographies at the site. Anyone with a Kentucky ancestor would do well to search here for their surname.

          This is a search engine that provides detailed access to Canadian genealogical information on the World Wide Web. Build your search using the categories below. You may perform a simple search using only one category, or build a more complex search using two or three categories in any combination.

          Jewish Cemetary Project

          The Association for Jewish Genealogical Studies has a searchable database online with information on more than 21,000 cemeteries (varying information) and 400,000 names of individuals from all around the world from over 775 cemeteries. The search is not done immediately--results are sent by e-mail, but it can be a useful resource for Jewish researchers.
