Minnie Veda SCHUSTER was born on 04 NOV 1867 in Quincy, Illinois to Seede (Seth) and Carolena (Lena) Wilhelmena (VON MOHR, ROHLFS) SCHUSTER. She was one of 6 children born to Carolena SCHUSTER. She moved with her parents in 1872 to Franklin County, Nebraska. As a young girl she was confirmed in the Lutheran Church and later joined the Presbyterian Church.
Christian John RUOPP was married to Minnie Veda SCHUSTER on 12 MAR 1886 in the Tremont Hotel located in Bloomington, Franklin County, Nebraska and to them four children were born:
(1) Lena Schuster RUOPP b. ae 21 MAY 1887 in Bloomington, NE, m. 19 APR 1908 in Bloomington, NE to William Clifford STORY. Lena d. 07 DEC 1933 at Escondido, San Diego Co., CA;
(2) Chris Seth RUOPP b. ae 06 MAR 1888 (?), m. d. (?);
(3) Ella Bertha RUOPP b. 08 NOV 1896 bp. Bloomington, Franklin County, Nebraska, m. Henry SINDT, d. 07 JAN 1979 dp. Franklin County Hospital, Franklin, Nebraska. They are both buried in the Naponee Cemetery, Naponee, Nebraska; and
(4) Marie Veda RUOPP b. 25 DEC 1902 bp. Bloomington, Nebraska, m. 25 NOV 1925 in Franklin County, Nebraska to Ervin AMMAN. (See their section for more information)
Minnie Veda SCHUSTER was born on 04 NOV 1867 in Quincy, Illinois to Seede (Seth) and Carolena (Lena) Wilhelmena (VON MOHR, ROHLFS) SCHUSTER. She was one of 6 children born to Carolena SCHUSTER. She moved with her parents in 1872 to Franklin County, Nebraska. As a young girl she was confirmed in the Lutheran Church and later joined the Presbyterian Church.
In 1884, at the age of 17, Minnie SCHUSTER got a teaching position at School District #35 in Franklin County, Nebraska. She had 20 pupils and the term was for four months. Then in the same year she got a teaching position at the Welcome School Dist. #44 with 12 pupils for three months. School terms were much shorter then, so she may have taught the equivalent of 2 terms.
Chris and Minnie RUOPP celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on 12 MAR 1936.
Minnie RUOPP died 01 DEC 1960 in Franklin County, Nebraska and was buried at the Naponee Cemetery , Naponee, Nebraska on 04 DEC 1960. She was dearly loved and mourned by those who knew her.
Minnie Ruopp obituray: "Minnie Veda Ruopp, daughter of Carolena and Seth Schuster, was born on a farm at Quincy, Illinois on Nov. 4, 1867. She moved with her parents in 1872 to Franklin County, received her education in Franklin County and was graduated from Bloomington High School. She taught in country schools for several years. When a young girl she was confirmed in the Lutheran Church and later joined the Presbyterian Church. She was united in marriage with Chris Ruopp March 12, 1886. Their first home was on a farm eight miles north of Bloomington. Later they moved to Bloomington. They resided in several different towns in Nebraska. To this union four children were born, Lena, Chris, Ella, and Marie. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on the 12th day of March, 1936. Her husband and one daughter preceded her in death. She passed away Dec. 1, 1960 at the age of 93 years and 27 days. Mrs. Ruopp leaves to mourn: one son, Chris Ruopp of Burbank, California; two daughters, Ella Sindt and Marie Amman, both of Naponee; 13 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was dearly loved by all who knew her and she was always ready to help and give her services where they were needed. Her departure leaves a vacancy which no one can fill but we trust that our loss is His gain, and she is where sickness and death never come. Funeral services were held in the Congregational Church at Naponee Sunday, Dec. 4, 1960 at 2 p.m. with Rev. A. Clair King officiating. Singers were Mrs. Dwayne Mahin and Mrs. Francis Post, accompanied by Mrs. Paul Eisenhauer. Pallbearers were Ben Sindt, Karl Sindt, Guss Harrison, Dick Brown, Bill Fratzke and Joe Richter. Interment was in the Naponee Cemetery." 2
