Mae E. Davis was born December 27, 1879 in Waseca county Minn. to Mr. and Mrs. David Davis. She came to the Dakota Territory with her parents in 1883, and in 1893 the family moved into Britton, where she attended the Britton schools. She later taught school in Marshall county.
On June 9, 1902, she was married to Otto Sherburn, and to theis union three children were born: Lucille, (Mrs. Oliver Kron) of Northfield, Minn.; David Sherburn, of Britton; and Frank, who died in infancy. Mr. Sherburn preceeded her in death in 1926.
She served two terms as Register of Deeds of Marshall county, and later, on September 3, 1935, married J. B. Carver.
Mrs. Carver, who was 66 years of age at the time of her death, was a member of the Eastern Star, the Rebekah Lodge, and a life long member of the Presbyterian church of Britton.
