Brunswick, ME 10 Jan 1749, son of Edmund and Sarah (Smith) Hinkley, lived in Topsham, ME 1820; m. Brunswick 2 Mar 1782 (VR, p. 536) MARY WILSON of Topsham. In 1790 Elnathan was in Topsham with three males under 16 and three females. He lived near James, Hugh and William Wilson as well as Actor Patten. The first grantee deed for Elnathan Hinkley was one by which he acquired land in Topsham, parts of lots 23 and 24, from William and Thankful [Thompson] Wise. The land had been set off to Thankful from the estate of Samuel Thompson late of Topsham, deceased. Interestingly enough the witnesses to the signatures were Theophilus Hinkley, William Hinkley, Priscilla Thompson and Lydia Thompson. By 19 November 1810 Elnathan Hinkley of Topsham acquired land in Topsham from Ezekial and Priscilla Thompson of Lisbon. Elnathan and Mary Hinkley in two separate deeds, 2 February 1803, conveyed "all the estate both real and personal that any ways shall become due or was left to [her] ... on the death of her honoured father William Wilson late of Topsham" to the heirs of Samuel Thompson, Esq. late of Topsham, deceased; namely James Thompson, Humphrey Thompson, Samuel Thompson, John and Rachel Wilson all of Topsham; Aaron Thompson of the Plantation of Little River; William and Thankful Wise of Falmouth; Samuel T. Mallot [Mallett] of Bowdoin. The first deed excluded one-seventh part of an island, while the second deed conveyed the island, itself. 5 6 Elnathan married Mary WILSON, daughter of William WILSON and Isabella LARRABEE, on 25 March 1782 in Brunswick, Sagadahoc Co., Maine.1 2 3 (Mary WILSON was born before 1755 in Topsham, Sagadahoc Co., Maine 7.)

Reader I came across the marriage record of Elnathan Hinkley of Brunswwick
and Mary Wilson - 25 Mar 1782. It was included in "Topsham, Maine Marriage
Records Soleminized by Esq. John Merrill" (VII:170.) The Reader also has
some notes on the Hinkley family that confirm what I sent you but give more
"newsy" items. Unfortunately there is nothing there on what happened to
Elnathan. I thought that you would want the actual marriage date. I'll
xerox the pages on the Hinkleys and send them at a later time. Happy
