Marguerite left France as a single girl and journeyed to Quebec as a "Fille Du Roi", which was the name given to the women immigrants from France who agreed to travel to Quebec and marry a French settler there in exchange for a dowry from the French King. Marguerite married Bernard DELPECH DIT BELAIR, son of Jean DELPECH and Jeanne TESSERAND, on 25 November 1667 in Montreal, Quebec.1 (Bernard DELPECH DIT BELAIR was born about 1641 in , , , France 1 and died on 9 December 1687 in Repentigny, Quebec, Canada 1.)
