Corey Number: File 820 Date of Filing 10 March 1866 Subject: Petition for sale of real estate belonging to a minor child Andrew Corey of Fond du Lac Wisconsin Petitioner: John Doby, Guardian Abstract: For Andrew Corey, a minor, to sell real estate SE1/4 of SE1/4 of Section 2 T15(N)R18(E) in the Town of Taycheedah and also the West parcels of the North half of the northwest quarter of Section 12 in T15(N)R18(E) in the Town of Empire.
Tunis Burhite (sic) provided a statement which says "I know the minor Andrew B. Corey. He is 12 years old and he is my daughter's son." He describes 25 acres with a "nice house on it, a horse barn and some sheds and an orchard." He is in favor of the sale, as he believes investing the proceeds in government bonds will be more profitable.
This real estate was sold. Empire property was sold to Henry Seibel for $400.00; Taycheedah property was sold to John T. Burhyte for $1800.00 on May 14, 1866.

Corey is son of John B. Corey. On October 6, 1868, guardianship of Andrew B. Corey was assigned to Mathew Short who became administrator on same date. Mathew Short of Fond du Lac is listed as principal administrator and John T. Burhyte and John A. Dobi (sic) as seconds. Previously on the 13th of July 1868, Hannah Dobi (sic) surrendered guardianship of Andrew B. Corey in exchange for a satisfaction of mortgage which she and her husband, John Dobi, entered into with John T. Burhyte for two parcels of land: 10 acres in Section 2 (S1/4NE1/4 of NE1/4 in Section 2, T14R17) and South Sixty feet of lot 5 and a fraction of lot 6 of Brush's addition to City of Fond du Lac.

The Corey family is not listed in 1902 [Seattle, WA] City Directory but... is listed as follows in 1903 City Directory: Corey, Andrew B, Shoemaker 702 Blewett-home-same. ( I have not yet tried to find this address but I believe it is in the Fremont area of Seattle.
