General Notes:
From[34] "The Eno and Enos Family in America" by Douglas Richardson, 1973 revised 1985, page 207:
"In 1789, John deeded land in Simsbury to his brother, Oliver Eno, and then he moved to New York State. He appears on the 1790 Census of Whitestown (now Whitesboro), New York with 1 male over 16 and 2 females in his family. He was mentioned in 1797, in the distribution of his father's real estate and seems to have disposed of his share of the inheritance when he deeded land in Simsbury in 1806 to his brothers, Isaac and Martin Eno. He appears on the 1800 Census of Whitestown, N. Y. with 2 males under 10, 1 male 26-45, 1 girl 10-16, and 1 female 26-45 living in his household. Nothing further is known of John but as his sons settled in the Oswego-Cayuga Cos., N. Y. area, it is very likely that he moved to this area after 1800."
From addendum to the above book:
"John Eno was born 6-17-1764, in Simsbury, Connecticut and was the son of Isaac and Anne Eno of that community. He married as noted in 1788, to Sally Hollister. He moved by 1790, to Whitestown, N. Y., as noted. After 1800, the family reportedly moved to Oswego Co., New York. In 1830, John Eno moved to Peoria Co., Illinois where he purchased land at Harker Corners. He reportedly died about 1840, at Mossville, Peoria Co., Illinois."
John married Sally HOLLISTER in 1788 in Simsbury, Hartford Co., Connecticut. (Sally HOLLISTER was born on an unknown date and died on an unknown date.)
