bullet  General Notes:

From genealogy records of Newbold LeRoy dated October 24, 1998:

"... There has been a bit of confusion regarding James' wife Anna. The Eno Genealogy (34) says James m Anna as his first wife, she being the widow of Richard BIDWELL and saying she was b c 1624/25 and probably had two children by Richard and that they d in 1648. Stiles(57) says she was Hannah b 22Oct1634 daughter of Richard. The Bassett Genealogy(71) feels that these two children were James' by a previous marriage in England, that Anna was Richard's widow, and that James and Anna had three children of their own in Windsor. The Bidwell Genealogy(146) says that Anna was Hannah daughter of Richard. In as much as James' and Anna's daughter Sarah was b 15Jun1649, if Anna was b 22Oct1634 she would have been a mother at 14 years, seven months and twenty four days. Even for those days that seems soon. Therefore I have erred, if it is indeed an error, on the side of Anna being Richard BIDWELL's widow, and that the two BIDWELL children that d in Windsor in 1648 were Anna's two youngest by Richard. I believe that this scenario as well as that of Jame's first wife Ann GRONBAL is well accepted. See related article in (Hale, House, and Related Families by Donald Jacobus and Edgar F. Waterman, Genealogical Publishing Co., Baltimore, MD 1978)." [see James Eno, Jr. notes for source references, RWW]
