Unrelated GALUS Families -- Illinois

My GALUS family immigrated to Nebraska.  Early in my research two of my aunts said that a couple of my grandfather's brothers were in Illinois and Michigan.  Over the years I compiled information about GALUS families located in Illinois and Michigan in an effort to try and track down my grandfather's brother Joseph GALUS.

This page contains some of the miscellaneous information I accumulated on Illinois GALUS families.  I have no personal knowledge about these people, so it is possible I have made some errors in linking data from different sources to specific individuals. Please let me know of any corrections to be made --

What happened to my Granduncle Joseph GALUS?
My grandfather, Stanislaus GALUS and his brother Joseph, immigrated from Leki Gorne / Łęki Górne, Galicia, Poland to Tarnov, Platte County, Nebraska in September 1898.  For the longest time I was unable find anything more about Joseph.  In 2005, when St. Michael's Church in Tarnov published a book listing all parish records, I finally found proof that a Joseph GOLUS in the 1910 Platte County census was my granduncle.  The marriage record for Joseph GALUS and Anna OLSZOWKA named their parents, which confirmed this was my Joseph.  Their first son, Leo, was baptized in the St. Michael's Church in 1911.  There were no other baptism records for children born to Joseph and Anna at St. Michael's.

Joseph and Anna were not enumerated in the 1920 Nebraska census.  Subsequently I found them listed in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.  Joseph and his wife Anna were living at 1012 Erie Street with their children Leo, age 8, Frank, age 6, and Rose, age 2.  After locating them in Chicago, I found a birth / baptism record for son Frank in the birth index for St. John Cantius Church in Chicago at the Polish Genealogical Society of America website. Birth index PGSA.org  The 1920 census is the last I have found of Joseph and his family.  I have tried all kinds of searches looking for them in the 1930 census.  So far I have had no luck.

What I know -- in a nutshell:
Joseph GALUS: born 26 May 1878, Leki Dolne, Galicia, Poland
son of Andrew and Agnes nee SZTORC / STORZ
Married 26 January 1910, St. Michael's Church, Tarnov, Platte County, Nebraska
Anna OLSZOWKA / OLSUFKA / OLSOFKA: born Jan 1889, Illinois (according to the 1900 census)
daughter of Thomas and Anna WARZALA / WORZALA
Children:
Leo Joseph, born 13 April 1911, baptized St. Michael's Ch, Tarnov, Platte, Nebraska
Frank Joseph, born 26 February 1914, baptized St. John Cantius Ch, Chicago, Cook, Illinois
Rose, born about 1918, Illinois (age 2 in the 1920 Illinois census)

See my GALUS Family page for a few more details about Joseph.
