Henry William Bultmann Henry Bultmann was born on January 18, 1896 in Bloom Twp., Nobles Co., MN to Fred and Mary Pfingsten Bultmann. Henry grew up in Bloom Twp. and attended country school near his home. On May 1, 1919 Henry married Christina Behr at Immanuel American Lutheran Church in rural Fulda, MN. Following their marriage they farmed one mile north of the church in Bloom Twp. for 48 years. Henry and Christina retired from farming in 1962 and remained on the farm until 1967 when they moved into Fulda. Christina died on June 23, 1986. Henry continued living at home until moving into the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda on August 31, 1990 where he died on August 9, 1992 at the age of 96. Henry was a member of Immanuel American Lutheran Church, rural Fulda. He had served on the Church council and had sung with the men's quartet. Henry belonged to the Fulda Senior Citizens, served on the Co-op Creamery board for 3 years, the Wirock Elevator board for 21 years and was the assessor of Bloom twp. for 48 years. He also served on the school boards for Country School District #101 and the Fulda School District #505 and was a 4-H leader for many years. Henry enjoyed playing cards, caring for livestock, planting crops and farming. Survivors include five children and their spouses: Ruth and Ivan Schwarz of Omaha, NE; Lyla and Leland Getting of Fulda, MN; Norma and Leeland Kolterman of Niobrara, NE; Janice and Dennis Schei of Luverne, MN; Marlyn and Linda Bultmann of Fulda, MN; 22 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Anna Gunderman of Mountain Lake, MN; Mathilda Crippen of Worthington, MN; and Erna and Chet Eikenberry of Rapid City, SD. Henry is preceded in death by his parents; wife: Christina; three sons: Eldon, Edwin and Harold; a grandson: Terry Kolterman; a great-granddaughter: Kristin Bultmann; three sisters: Lydia Bultmann, Paulina Brinkman and Elsie Brinkman and a brother, Fred. Funeral Services Immanual (sic) American Lutheran Church in rural Fulda, MN on Wednesday, August 12, 1992 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Allan Bakke officiating. Organist is Twyla Goedtke. Soloist is A.W. Koopman. Pallbearers are grandsons: Scott Bultmann, Bruce Bultmann, Dayn Schwarz, Jodie Getting, Perry Kolterman and Barry Kolterman. Interment is in the Immanuel American Lutheran Cemetery, rural Fulda. |

Christina Margaret Bultmann Christina M. Bultmann was born Feb. 3, 1901 at Clinton, Ia. to Fritz and Sophia Christiansen Behr. In 1903 the Behr family moved from Iowa to a farm in Seward Twp. Nobles Co. Mn. and later lived on a farm in Murray Co. northeast of Fulda. Christina attended country schools. On May 1, 1919 she and Henry W. Bultmann were married at Immanuel American Lutheran Church rural Fulda. Together they farmed one mile north of the church in Bloom Twp. for 48 years. They retired from farming in 1962 and remained on the farm until 1967 when they moved to Fulda. Christina and Henry celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1969. Due to failing health, Christina entered Fauskee Nursing Home on Jan. 16, 1986 and passed away there on June 23, 1986 at the age of 85. Christina was a member of Immanuel American Lutheran Church most of her life and belonged to the Ladies Aid there. Christina was also active in the Fulda Pink Ladies, Fulda Senior Citizens, Bloom Jolly Hour Extension Club and in 1981 was crowned Senior Citizen Queen for the Fulda Centennial. Her many hobbies included sewing, crocheting, gardening, flowers, playing cards and mostly enjoyed being with her family where she was a devoted wife and mother. Survivors include her husband, Henry, and five children, Ruth, Mrs. Ivan Schwarz of Omaha, Neb., Lyla, Mrs. Lee Getting of Fulda, Norma, Mrs. Dennis Schei of Luverne, Mn. and Marlyn of Fulda. Christina was blessed with 22 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Ella, Mrs. Fred Rieniets of Drake, ND and Mrs. Emma Nemmers of Fulda. She is preceded in death by her parents, three sons, Edwin, Harold and Eldon, one sister Fena Beckman, one grandson and one great granddaughter. Funeral Services Thursday, June 26, 1986 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel American Lutheran Church rural Fulda with Rev. Donald Schoeppler, pastor, officiating. The organist is Ron Janssen. The soloist is A. W. Koopman. The pallbearers are all grandsons, Mark Bultmann, Elden Getting, Kerry Kolterman, Kalon Schwarz, Brian Bultmann, Dayn Schwarz, Les Getting and Larry Kolterman. Interment at the church cemetery. |
