December 2007 -- e-mail from LeonardI happened upon your input on my mother's family, the Pier's [PEJOR], on rootsweb.com.... My mother's name was Veronica but she was always called Vera.... Can you give me any clues on how to find information on my father's family - the Kuseks?
Leonard's
grandparents were Joseph KUSEK and Josephine nee AUGUSTYN. In

They were the parents of Eva, Celia, Ted, Ed, Floyd and Adam
The following excerpt from Eva's obituary in the Grand Island Independent names her siblings.
ORD -- Eva A. Kapustka, 95, of Ord died Tuesday, April 7, 1998, at the Valley County Nursing Home in Ord.
Mrs. Kapustka was born on Oct. 21, 1902, in Krakow near Columbus to Frank and Mary (Kusek) Dubas. When she was a young child, her family moved to Valley County and settled north of Elyria. She attended Fort Hartsuff School. Her mother died in 1915, and she and her sister helped their father raise the four younger brothers.
She married Steve Kapustka on April 15, 1929, in St. Mary's Church at Elyria.... She was survived by a brother Ted and was preceded in death by three brothers, Ed, Floyd and Adam; and a sister, Celia Savage.

Joseph married Veronica / Vera PEJOR on 24 Nov 1920 at St. Michael's Church in Tarnov, Platte County, Nebraska. Veronica was born 27 Jun 1899 to Adam PEJOR / PIER and Maria CIELOCHA. More about the Adam PEJOR family.
So far I have not located Joseph and Veronica in the 1930 census.
Joseph died 11 Feb 1983. Veronica died about 17 Oct 1974 (Online obituary index for Columbus Telegram
