Obituary of Charles Edwin Chambers "The remains of Charles Edwin Chambers of Washington, D. C. were returned from France and bried at Arlington, February 28th, 1921. He was inducted into the A. E. F. September 17th, 1917 ans assigned to the 312th Machine Gun Battalion 79th Division at Camp Meade, where he was made a Corporal. He remained there until July 1918 when his battalion sailed over seas. He died of pneumonia in the Hospital at Allarg, France, October 7th, 1918, aged 32 years. His remains were followed by his former comrades to the burial place. He is survived by his wife Virginia and a young son Charles Edwin, Jr., whom he never saw, and his father, Edwin H. Chambers, all of Washington, D. C."
