obituary of Philander C. Richardson "Philander C. Richardson died at the home of his nieces, Mrs. Lillian Hunt Shepard and Miss Isabel Hunt, in No. Bloomfield on July 20th, 1923. He was born on the farm now owned by W. W. Shepard, July 16, 1842. The youngest of four children of Rufus and Elizabeth Richardson and the last of these to be laid to rest. His entire life has been spent in this community. Until about 1880 he lived on the home farm. At that time he took up his residence in North Bloomfield with his sister, Mrs. Elston Hunt, who passed on in 1917. His own generation remembers him as a horseman, but the younger folks think of his violin when his name is mentioned. He had a great repertory of old reels and hornpipes and was generous about playing for the youngsters to dance. On account of rheumatical conditions his activities for many years were confined to the home garden. For the past season he had been unable even to assist at that though not until this month had he been confined to his bed. His funeral services occurred at the home Sunday afternoon, conducted by his friend and neighbor, Rev. G. B. Richardson. Interment in the family plot at the Honeoye Falls Cemetery."
