We have DEAS in our line but not this person
I have forwarded it to 'cuzzins' in Camden who may be able to locate
a direct descendant. Don't lose the picture in the meantime!

Several months ago I posted on the NC-SC list:
"In going through papers of a deceased aunt,
I have found an old photograph that shows Lynch Horry DEAS at age
little brother at 20 months. It is probably from the late 1800's and
South Carolina. The name J. D. Deas also appears on the back.
Would like to give to some decendant or family member."
I received one response that stated,
"I suspect the child in the photograph must have been a descendant of
Margaret HORRY (sister of Elias HORRY, once Mayor of Charletson and
president of the College of Charleston) and her husband John DEAS,
Scottish immigrant." Probably great-grand children.
I also found information on the Social Security list that states that
DEAS, was b.25 Nov 1886, d. Jan 1966, but does not list a residence or
location of last benefit. It does indicate that issueing state was
