There are several places named "Piney Grove" as one might expect in a state
where pine trees are common. The Piney Grove that I remember best is the one
with the Piney Grove exit on I-26 going towards Irmo from Columbia.  Dad had a
place at Lake Murray across from Amenity Island and just down the road from
Lighthouse Marina (aka Johnson's Marina). I drove past the Piney Grove exit
hundreds of times going to our lake house during my teens and twenties. Those
were some good times. There was also a truck stop at the Pine Grove exit where
my friends and I often stopped for coffee and breakfast.  Anyway, that Pine
Grove exit is between Columbia and Irmo. It is not far from Bush River Road.
