Davenport Homestead

Harriet Ann Davenport was the daughter of John Armstead Davenport and Susan Ann Silfy Davenport. She never married and took care of her parents in the old farmhouse. She farmed and kept the house for the rest of her life. She made her own clothes and raised her own food. Electricity and plumbing had never been installed. She was the last Davenport to live in the house when she died in 1975. It was the first time the house had been empty in over 200 years.
