The Last Will and Testament of Andreas Filtzinger (Felsinger)
(Father of Dorothea Filtzinger Sides, the wife of Henry Sides of Anson Co., NC)
I, Andreas Filtzinger, of
Lower-Saucon Township, in the county of Northampton, in the Province of
Pensylvania, Yeoman, being aged and infirm in body, but of sound mind, memory
and Understanding, blessed be God for the same and all and other his ____ &
favours conferred upon me, and calling to mind the Uncertainty of this mortal
Life, have thought fit to make this my Last Will and Testament of and concerning
my worldly Estate in manner following, that is to say, First, it is my will that
all my just debts and funeral expenses be duly paid. and I do give and bequeath
unto my well beloved wife Anna Margaretha the sum of one hundred and Sixteen
Pounds lawfull money of Pennsylvania, to be paid her in twelve months after my
decease, with the lawful Interest thereof. And I do likewise give unto my said
wife, one Cow, one Iron Stove, and all the rest of my Houshold Goods and
furniture. And I do likewise give unto my God-son Andreas the sum of Forty
Pounds lawful money of Pennsylvania, one suit of Cloths which I used to wear at
Sunday’s, and four of my best shirts. And I do give unto my Daughter Dorothea,
the wife of John Henry Seitz, now residing in the Province of North-Carolina,
the sum of Twenty shillings, lawful money of Pennsylvania, and the same like Sum
of Twenty shillings, lawful money of Pennsylvania unto John Henry Seitz, her
Husband. But, if the said John Henry Seitz, should be dead according to my
Daughters Letter, then my Daughter Dorothea shall have an equal Part and share
with the rest of the lawful Issue.

and declared by the above-named Andrew Filtzinger the Testator
...............his Last will and Testament in the Presence of Us who in his
Presence and at his Request have hereunto subscrived our names, as Witnesses to
the same.

I Andreas Filtzinger, in the
foregoing Testament named, do this eight day of July make and publish this
Codicil to my said Last Will and Testament in manner following, that is to say,
it is my Will and Mind that what I have so as aforesaid riven unto my wife Anna
Margaretha, shall be in Lieu and Stead of her Dower, including the Bond of
Sixty-six Pounds, now in the Hands of Christopher Waggoner Esq., being money
which said Anna Margareth his wife brought to me, at the Time of her Marriage,
and not otherwise. And it is my desire that this my present Codicil be annexed
to and wade a part of my Last Will and Testament to all Intents and Purposes. In
Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this eight Day of July in
the Year of our Lord 1766.

the seventh day of December Anno 1767. Before me the Subscriber personally
appeared Godfreyd Richter one of the witnesses to the foregoing Last will and
Testament and Codicil of Andreas Filtzinger Dece’d and being duly sworn on the
Holy Evangelists of Almighty God did declare that he was present and did see the
sd. Testator Sign Seal publish and declare the same as and for his Last will and
Testament and Codicil and that at the doing thereof he the said Testator was of
sound mind Memory and Understanding to the best of his knowledge and belief And
that Valentine Opp together with this deponent did sign his name as a witness
thereto at the request and the presence of the said testator and in the presence
of another.
