The Last Will and Testament of George Seitz (George Adam Seitz, son of Johan Adam Seitz).
In the Name of God Amen, I , George Seitz, of Lincoln County Grand State of North Carolina, planter, being old infirm but of perfect mind and memory thanks be unto God for the Same and calling to mind the uncertaintity of this life and that it is appointed for all ment once to die, I do make and ordain this my last will and Testament in the manner and form following (that is) first and principally I bequeath my Soul unto Almighty God who gave it unto me relying on the merits of Christ Jesus for the Redemption of the Same and my body I commit to the Earth from which it was taken to be buried ewith decent Christian Burial at the descretion of my Executors hereafter named and touching what worldly goods hath pleased God to bless me with in this life, I give and dispose of the Same in the manner and form following to wit, I give and bequeath unto my son Abraham Seitz and his heirs for Ever the plantation whereon I now dwell with the farming utensils there to belonging (Excepting one acre and a half of meadow ground which I will allow for my son Moses.)
I give and bequeath unto my Son George Seitz and his heirs for Ever the lower end of a tract of land laying on the North Side of the South fork whereon he did dwell. I give and bequeath unto my Son David Seitz and his heirs for Ever the upper end of a track of Land on the North Side of the South fork adjoining his brother George Seitz. I give and bequeath unto my Son Moses Seitz and his heirs for Ever a tract of land adjoining th eland where I now dwell containing Seventy-five acres be it more or less also one acre and a half of meadow ground veing in the plantation where I now dwell, it being the same meadow ground that I have excepted in my will and legacy also a negro fellow named Adam after his Mothers decease and not before also fifty acres of wood land adjoining Jacob Shuford Land. I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Annah Seitz Two cows and calfs which she has received and the burow. I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Sarah Two cows and calfs. I give unto my son Joseph Seitz a bed and Two hundred and fifty dollars and whosoeer support him and take care of him Shal be and heir to it whqat he received of me. I hereby do will and bequeath the said John Seitz Deceased and Thomas Seitz and their heirs aquitance from all debts or demands for Everything they have Received during my lifetime and suppose if there is more of my bequeathing to my Son Joseph Seitz that they all of my chrildren Shall be Shared Equally. I give and bequeath unto my well beloved wife Susannah Seitz during her natural life (Marriage Excepted) all that I may be possessed of at my decease (over and above mentioned) such as household Furniture and plantation utensils that is Bed and Bedding, pewter pots, and that belong to householding also cattle horses, Sheep, hogs, and it is my will and Desire that my wife after my Decease Should be Supported from the plantation I now live on During her life (as above mentioned) and that she should remain in the old Dwelling House and in care his Son Abraham Seitz and by no means disturb his Mother in her Residenced. It is also that the negro household be at her disposal during her Childrens Minority and it is my will and Desire that my dearly beloved wife Susana Seitz can and may do with her own whatever I have bequeathed unto her as She please, Sell it or keep it and I do hereby Nominate, constitute, and appoint my Dear and well beloved wife Susana Seitz and my loving and Dutiful Son Abraham to be the Executors of this my last will and testament and hereby revoking and making void of all former wills by me made, Ratifying and confirming this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have here unto set my hand seal this 5th Day of February, Ano Domini 1813.
