The Last Will and Testament of Jacob Seitz
In the Name of God Amen. I Jacob Seitz of the county of Lincoln and state of North Carolina Being of sound mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of the mortal life and knowing that is is appointed for all ment once to die do make and publish this my last Will and testament.
In manner and form viz First I give and Bequeath to my beloved Wife Mary my Two Negroes Dick and Pegy during her natural life for her own use and benefit & all my household furniture of every description to enjoy same during her life.
Secondly I give and bequeath to my son Michael Seitz the tract of Land on which I now live, to him and his heirs forever & likewise all my household furniture goods and chattels of every description Except my two negroes & one bed that I shall hereafter menton no condition that, he shall maintain my wife mary decently her life time & give her possession of such part of my dwelling house as she may choose, for her separate use and benefit.
Thirdly I give & bequeath to my Grandson Joseph & son of my daughter Sally Leeper Two Hundred Dollars, which I desire mayb be payed him after the death of my wife Likewise one good featherbed and clothes
Fourthly I do hereby allow my exectors hereafter th be named to make sale of my two Negroes before mentioned after my Wifes death and not before.
Fifthly After payment of my just debts I desire that my Negroes before mentioned be sold as above directed and the money Equally divided among all my children only the above legacy to my grandson Joseph to be first descharged
Sixthly I do hereby appoint my sons Jacob Seitz and Micheal Seitz Executors of This my Last will and testament And do hereby utterly disallow revoke & disannul all and every other former testaments, wills, legacys, bequeaths, & Executors by me in any wise before named. Willed and Bequeathed Ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my Last will and testament. In Witness whereof I Jacob Seitz Sen. have hereunto set my hand and seal this 22 day of December 1812.
