Doing a terrible job at maintaining and adding to this site. Sorry but so
very busy.
It appears the origins of the families of Johann Heinrich
Seitz and Andreas Felsinger have finally been found. Great news which finally
dispels much of the speculation and myth of many years.
New info added in reference to Johann Heinrich Seitz. These
are from the Evangelist Church Buedingen, Kirchenbuch, 1631-1942 which
detail info relating to the Seitz and Felsinger families originating in
Beudingen and Calbach, Hesse, immigrating in Sept of 1738 to PA. This Johann
Heinrich Seitz is the same Henry Sides who settled in the 1750's in Anson
Co., NC.
I will be adding scanned images of the entries from the
microfilm of the Kirchenbuch from Beudigen, Hesse soon.

Not doing a very good job with the updates am I? There's just
so much to do and so little time. There is much more to do.
To all of you who have e-mailed me, but have not received a
response, my sincere apologies. If it has been more than 2 weeks since you have
e-mailed me, please try again and I will try to respond promptly.
Thanks..

have been very busy. More updates to be posted soon.
25 December, 2002
My apologies for not adding more updates in the last week or so. It's that
time of year again. I will try to update things some more before the end of the
year if I can, but definitely after the holiday season.
To all of you, my extended "family" I wish the very best in all
things this holiday season and in the coming year.

14 December, 2002
- The hit counter shows 170+ visits in the last 7 days. Are there that many
of you out there? I suspect many of the hits were repeat visits which
indicates there must be something on this site worth viewing. Thanks to those of
you who visited, and took the time to e-mail me with your kind words. I would still like input
from you, whether it's content
you wish to share with all of us, or questions, comments, concerns, or ideas
for new categories or features. I do accept negative feedback as well, as
long as it is constructive.
13 December, 2002
- The site was offline temporarily to correct problems with some of the
menus on some pages. Sorry for the inconvenience. Please let me know if you
have any difficulties while navigating this site.
10 December, 2002
- Added some small changes to the Pre-1790 Seitz/Sides of NC page.
- Going to begin working on adding content for other states as well.
7 December, 2002
- Added a new menu option, "Charts and Groupsheets" with a few to
start with.
- Added some more tidbits to some of the other individuals on the Pre-1790 NC
Seitz/Sides page.
6 December, 2002
- I have added a menu to help with site navigation. Up to now you have only
been able to navigate using the menu on the homepage and your web browser's
forward and back buttons. With a website such as this that will eventually
have a fairly large amount of content, ease of navigation is important, to
assure that you won't miss anything and can get around. A problem you might
have experienced is that if you book marked a page on the site, and came back
to it later, you could still view that site, but had no means to return to
the main page or other pages without going back to the homepage.
- I still want to keep the site clean, clutter free, easy to navigate, with
an emphasis on content rather than flair, that is multi-browser friendly. I
have been eye-balling some new features for the site that will involve
dynamic content that will enhance the functionality of this site, but these
features will only work if you have java and other scripting enabled in your
web browser. If you can visit and view most of the other sites on the web,
then your browser's settings are compatible. Still there are some users' whose
browsers may not be, but they should still be able to view and navigate the
content of this site with no problem, just minus some of the enhancements.
- So far I have been concentrating on the NC Seitz family since that is my
primary area of interest. I do have content from other states, so don't give
up on this site just yet if your family is from another geographic location.
- The visitor counter is incrementing with an average of a 10 hits a day, so
it's obvious that someone is taking time to drop by and poke around. I have
had a little feedback so far, all of it positive, so thanks to those who
have taken the time to do so. I would still like input whether it's content
you wish to share with all of us, or questions, comments, concerns, or ideas
for new categories or features. I do accept negative feedback as well, as
long as it is constructive.
- Thanks to Rootsweb, Karl Seitz, and Faye Moran for having a link to
this website on their own sites. You can visit their sites via the
"Other WebSeitz" link above. If you have a homepage you would like
added, let me know.

23 November, 2002
Making slow but sure progress and will be uploading new content in the next
day or so.
1. Updated the home page slightly and added two new menu items. One for a list
of Seitz related publications, and the other for the DNA Reconstruction Project
that is currently in motion.
21 November, 2002
Still here and working on adding content. Been a little preoccupied with the
incoming results of the Sides/Seitz
DNA Reconstruction project coordinated by Deb Harper. Results coming in are
interesting, and the occurrences of DNA matches are just as telling as those
that are NOT matches. I would urge you to participate in this study.
As most of you know my primary area of interest is PA and NC pre-1790, and I
have been trying to organize and format what I have on these areas. I also am
continuing to concentrate on the 16+ male Seitz/Sides that were in NC prior to
that time that many of those researching this family are descended from, so be
on the lookout for that.
As always would welcome any and all additions and corrections to this site.

3 November, 2002
Yes, I am still here, working on the NC
information. Busy outlining the 16+, males Seitz/Sides individuals who were in
NC pre 1790. As I said earlier, there will be better continuity if I post it all at the
same time. Please keep checking back.
1. Added a list of contributors/researchers of
the Seitz family that I have had the pleasure to share and exchange information
with over the years. This is an ongoing task. Lots of people to thank and to add
as well.
29 October, 2002
Still reorganizing and formatting NC content. Added "Location" link
on homepage.
21 October, 2002
Concentrating on early NC Seitz/Sides right now, and working on organizing
