James and Margaret were on part of Lot 13, First Concession from 1886 to 1896, and purchased Lot 8W, Second Concession Bromley from Joseph Donegan in October 1897 and sold it in March 1903. James' tombstone gives his dates as 1862 - 1937. Birth date recorded here is from the 1901 census--the 1911 census has him born April 1865. In 1911 James was living in Pembroke with his two elder children and four nieces who reanged in age from 19 to 23: Florence and Gertrude Ryan and Tillie and Gerasine Sauve. His younger children were

A Patrick Walsh purchased land from Bridget's father, Edward Reynolds, in 1900--at the time Patrick was identified as a widower. Bridget probably died shortly after her marriage, possibly as a result of childbirth.

In October 1900 Catherine Durick, daughter of Edward Reynolds, was an executor of her father's estate, and released her claim on his property, which was then sold to Patrick Walsh, widower of Catherine's sister Bridget. Marriage registration for Catherine names her mother as Mary Reilly--need to check this out!

Brudenell Parish Register for birth and christening date. Place of birth from 1881 census. Marriage registration indicates that Bernard was an "engineer" and resident of Winnipeg. In 1911 the family was living at 557 Merrion, Winnipeg where Bernard was employed by the CNR (Canadian National Railway). Obituary of his sister Ellen Teresa indicates that in 1920 he was living in Lucerne, British Columbia. Search of BC death records for Bernard Reynolds yielded a 58 year old who died in Vancouver in 1938. Further details were obtained from the death certificate and obituary, both on microfilm at Vancouver Public Library.
Bernard married 1, 2 Mary Helen Quinn daughter of Thomas Quinn and Marie Bernard on 12 Jan 1909 in Eganville, Renfrew County, Ontario. Mary was born 3 on 14 Dec 1881 in Vale, Iowa. She died 4 on 22 Oct 1971 in Vancouver, British Columbia. She was buried 5 on 25 Oct 1971 in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Burnaby BC.
Marriage registration records name as Mary Helen Quinn. Marriage announcement in Eganville Leader referred to Nellie Quin and indicated she was the eldest daughter of Mrs. G. W. Briggs of Eganville. Death certicate indicates that Helen Mary Reynolds, died in Vancouver in 1971, was born in Iowa, although it says her parents were born in Ontario. The 1911 census indicates she came to Canada in 1887. Evidently her parents moved from Ontario where they were born, to Iowa when Helen was born and then back to Ontario. It appears that Helen's father had died and her mother remarried by 1909 because the marriage notice names her mother as Mrs. G.W. Briggs.

REYNOLDS_ John Gregory May 27, 1915 - April 20, 2006 Passed away peacefully at Amherst Hospital. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and a resident of Dunbar and Point Grey for over 80 years, Greg fulfilled his wish to maintain his own home until his 91st year. He graduated from Vancouver College and served as flying officer in the RCAF August 1942 - October 1945. Greg was a charter member of the Point Grey Council of the Knights of Columbus and a devoted member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish for over 60 years; latterly at Immaculate Conception parish. At OLPH he will be remembered as a badminton coach and lively bingo fund raiser for the school. In retired life his passion for sport played out on the links and many long friendships were forged over the drive to perfect that swing. Greg lost Helen Doyle, his beloved wife of 42 years, in 1985. He was pre-deceased by brother Mort and sister Marion and is survived by children Anne Gloeckler (Garth), Marion Gordon (Dan), Bernard Reynolds, Barbara Colbourne and Martin (Mort) Reynolds as well as grandchildren Matt, Jacob, Michael, Kevin, Natalie and Adrian. Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 3776 W. 28th Avenue, Vancouver on Thursday April 27, 2006 at 10 am with reception following. Park under new building right off 29th Ave W of Alma. The family thanks the caring staff at Amherst Hospital for easing Greg's last days. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Amherst Hospital.
