James A. Shuman Family

James A. SHUMAN, son of Joseph SHUMAN & Elizabeth BEATY, was born on 1 Jun 1830 in Dent's Run, Harrison Co., WV and died in Pendleton, Madison Co., IN on 22 Dec 1863. Buried in Grove Lawn Cemetery, Pendleton, Madison Co. IN. He served in the Mexican-American War. He was killed by a falling limb while clearing land.

He married Sarah FOSTER on 21 Oct 1852 in Henry Co., IN. She was born on 27 Jun 1833 and died on 5 Oct 1917. Buried in Grove Lawn Cemetery, Pendleton, Madison Co. IN. They had the following children:

3.6.1 Rebecca SHUMAN. She died on 10 Mar 1856. Buried in Grove Lawn Cemetery, Pendleton, Madison Co. IN.

3.6.2 Joseph R SHUMAN. He died on 13 Jan 1860. Buried in Grove Lawn Cemetery, Pendleton, Madison Co. IN.

3.6.3 John SHUMAN.

3.6.4 Louis SHUMAN. Born in Henry Co. IN.

He married Chloa WILLIAMS. She was born in 1853 in Henry Co. IN and died in Monroe Twp. Madison Co. IN on 13 May 1909. They had one child:

3.6.4.1 Daniel F SHUMAN (1896-1899)

3.6.5 Charles SHUMAN.

3.6.6 Lucinda SHUMAN.

Sarah second married Daniel ADAMS. They were divorced.
