James A. SHUMAN, son of Jehu SHUMAN and Mary Emeline SAMUELS, was born on 13 Dec 1856 in Pendleton, Madison Co., IN.

He married Margaret "Peggy" MURPHY. Margaret "Peggy" died on 24 Apr 1940. They had the following children:

3.4.6.1 Ira SHUMAN. He was born on 21 Aug 1884. On 3 Mar 1906 he married Maude THEABOLD. They had one child:

3.4.6.1.1 Robert SHUMAN

3.4.6.2 Clarence SHUMAN. He was born ca 1887 and died on 10 Apr 1946 in Alexandria, IN. On 13 Jan 1910 he married Mary O. JONES. They had the following children:

3.4.6.2.1 Charles O. SHUMAN (1917-)
3.4.6.2.2 Glen D. SHUMAN (1919-)

3.4.6.3 Everett SHUMAN. He was born on 30 Apr 1890. On 10 Apr 1915 he married Eva RIGGLEMAN. They had one child:

3.4.6.3.1 Leona SHUMAN

 

Margaret MURPHY's first husband was a SUMNER. They had the following children:

3.4.6.a Alvin SUMNER
3.4.6.b Alta SUMNER
