Josina SHUMAN, daughter of Jehu SHUMAN & Mary Emeline SAMUELS, was born on 25 Sep 1848 in Henry Co., IN and died in Madison Co., IN on 16 Feb 1878.

She married Martin OTTINGER. They had the following children:

3.4.2.1 Almeda Jane OTTINGER. Born on 18 Sep 1871 and died on 2 Jan 1929. On 20 Nov 1892 she first married William Ira CHAPPLE. William Ira died in 1907. They had the following children:

3.4.2.1.1 Acie Velora CHAPPLE (1894 -1904)
3.4.2.1.2 Cortland Monroe CHAPPLE (1896-1974)
3.4.2.1.3 William Dexter CHAPPLE (1897-1926)
3.4.2.1.4 Tressa Leora CHAPPLE (1899-1966)
3.4.2.1.5 Lalah May CHAPPLE (1902-1985)

On 16 Mar 1918 Almeda second married Albert REEVES.

3.4.2.2 Leona OTTINGER. She married George SWINFORD. They had the following children:

3.4.2.2.1 Curtis SWINFORD
3.4.2.2.2 Ernest SWINFORD
3.4.2.2.3 Virgil SWINFORD

3.4.2.3 Mary Etta OTTINGER. She was called "Aunt Ettie" by other family members. She first married Harry SPENCER.

She second married Joe RALSTON.

She third married Solomon SILVEY. They had the following children:

3.4.2.3.1c Mary SILVEY
3.4.2.3.2c Anna SILVEY
3.4.2.3.3c Opal SILVEY
3.4.2.3.4c Wyatt SILVEY
3.4.2.3.5c Dorothy SILVEY
